Stand Down on the Delta "Music Heals"

The Delta Veterans Groups "Stand Down on the Delta" September 8-11, 2023, will have bands from across California.  Darlyn Phillips is our Entertainment Director, she has been instrumental in recruiting the bands to play for free....  What she found was that many musicians in the SF Bay Area are Veterans themselves and they couldn't wait to serve.. Veterans serving Veterans has a Honorable meaning in our Veterans Community.  The musicians and many of the bands have played at Stand Down on the Delta since it began in 2015.

These Veteran musicians keep coming back to serve their Veterans Community year after year just to say "Thank You for Your Service" and to give an uplift to the Veteran Participants Heart and Soul.

What is the benefit of "veterans served their country, now they serve their communities"?

The benefit of the phrase "veterans served their country, now they serve their communities" is that it highlights the valuable contributions that veterans can make to their local communities after their military service has ended. By using their skills, experience, and leadership abilities, veterans can continue to serve their country by serving their communities in a variety of ways, such as volunteering, mentoring, and working in public service roles.

This approach can have several benefits for both veterans and their communities. For veterans, it can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment, as well as opportunities to develop new skills and build relationships with others. For communities, it can bring valuable expertise and leadership to local organizations and initiatives, as well as help to bridge the gap between military and civilian cultures.

Overall, the idea of veterans serving their communities is a powerful one that can help to strengthen both veterans and their communities, and promote a sense of shared responsibility and service.

Ambbeei Hall argues that veterans continue to deal with “moral injury” to this day!

As a young man from Chicago, Ambbeei Hall said he didn’t know what he was exactly getting himself into when he enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Hall looks back at his service in Vietnam with mixed feelings and concerns, as he explained that plenty of veterans are dealing with a lot of “moral injury” today.

Darrell Manful struggles to receive his complete benefits for his service in Vietnam

Darrell Manful earned several honors for his service. But that matters little to him today, as he is struggling to receive the proper compensation that he believes he deserves. According to Manful, the government won’t officially recognize that he served in Vietnam.

VFW Post 6435 and their Ladies Auxiliary donate $20,000 to Delta Veterans Group for Stand Down on the Delta 2015

August 6, 2015

For the past two years, Delta Veterans Group has been providing veterans with resources to organizations like the the DAV for VA claims assistance, health and benefits fairs, and collaboration with prominent real estate and banking leaders to assist veterans in purchasing homes in the Bay Area.  Along with these resources, DVG has made its mission to bring Contra Costa County’s first ever homeless and at-risk veteran  “Stand Down on the Delta” to our community. To date, DVG has had a substantial amount of support from the community for our veterans and Stand Down on the Delta 2015.
With only five weeks remaining until this event, Delta Veterans Group has received a donation from the

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6435 in support of the Stand Down on the Delta in the amount of $10,000.

With this generous donation from the VFW, we have now received $20,000 from the VFW and Ladies

Auxiliary Post 6435, located in Antioch CA.

Delta Veterans Group thanks the VFW Post 6435 for their generous donations and outpouring of support

for our veterans in need. Without the VFW’s support, Delta Veterans Group wouldn’t be able to provide

our veterans with the essential resources they need at Stand Down on the Delta, such as food, clothing, and

medical care.

We are still accepting volunteers for the Stand Down on the Delta 2015. We encourage anyone and

everyone who wants to show their support for our Nation’s veterans to sign up on our website to volunteer -

www.deltaveteransgroup.org.

Thank you for your support!
